At the age of 15 I started my first club in American College in Sofia - "The World of Fashion and PR". I was driven by the desire to create something meaningful and help, and with the help of classmates we organized two charity fashion shows that raised 10,000 BGN for charity. Then, in American University of Paris, I founded the UNICEF club, where we organized gala dinners and art auctions, raising the most money for the organization among all university clubs in all of France. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons - how members of a club, united by a common purpose and philosophy, can change lives. It was then that I realized how the power of community can bring about real change with visible results. Despite my 10+ years of experience creating and managing clubs, I never thought it would one day become my profession until I had the idea during the pandemic of Girls of Sofia.

I have moved abroad twice - first to Paris and then to Berlin. In those moments I was alone - without my friends, without a social environment. There was no choice but to get out of my comfort zone and start from scratch. In Paris I worked in a prestigious PR agency and organized interesting events, but when the pandemic came, I came home to Bulgaria and started working online, I realized that I missed the dynamics of live communication and the spontaneity that inspired me so much. Then I felt the need to find real friendships with inspiring women to share ideas and motivate each other.

All my life I've been surrounded by more boys than girls, and although I've always adored my friendships with them, I've also dreamed of building close relationships with girls who share my desire to grow and inspire. This lack got me thinking about what it would be like to create a community where I could find new friendships with inspiring and ambitious girls to support each other and grow together. When I returned to Sofia, I noticed that the exciting events I was used to organizing and attending in Paris were missing here.

One day, in April 2023, I chanced upon a cozy downtown studio that offered ceramics classes. The idea seemed very interesting, but when I invited my friends to join, to my surprise, none of them responded. Then I thought about how many girls are probably in the same situation - wanting to try new activities, discover new hobbies, but not having anyone to do it with. 

And so was born Girls of Sofia - a women's community that brings girls together with common interests, where every woman can feel inspired and supported, part of something bigger. A place where you create not only friendships, but new opportunities for growth and personal development. I believe that when we surround ourselves with inspiring women, we become stronger, more confident and happier. Girls of Sofia is an opportunity for each of us to find our place, connect with amazing women and create the life we deserve.
